A lof of my clients look for helpful tips ahead of their big day, so I thought I'd share some of my top hints with everyone.

Here are my top 5 tips for photography on your wedding day.

1. Family photos: Appoint someone who knows your guests to help gather family and friends for your formal family photos after your ceremony. This helps to keep things on track and running smoothly.

2. Dress hanger: Think about getting a wooden or beaded hanger for your dress, your bridesmaids and flower girls. They add a nice touch to your photographs (no more wire hangers!), and they make for a nice keep sake from the day for all!

3. False lashes: False lashes can be a beautiful addition to your make up on the day, but it’s a good idea to do a ‘test run’ wearing them prior to your wedding day. This can help make sure you’re happy with the thickness and length. Lashes that are too thick or long can sometimes make your eyes appear closed in your photographs, so give them a try first.

4. Hair spray: A great perk to living in Queensland means a lot of couples choose to have their wedding ceremony outdoors. Ask a friend or a bridesmaid to keep a travel-sized can of hairspray on hand in case you need to tame any stray strands of hair if the wind happens to pick up. It ensures your hair stays out of your eyes and in place during photography.

5. Get to know your photographer: It’s a great idea to get to know your photographer in the lead up to your wedding day. This can help make everyone more relaxed on the day and more than likely means you’ll be more comfortable in front of the camera. Yay!
